I like this place but the recent change of the gate house being closed for days at a time is not a good thing. I hope it's only temporary. There needs to be someone who attempts to enforce the campground rules there as the park rangers who sometimes drive through don't do anything.

I've been going to Bandits Roost for many years and I must say this time the park looked the worst it has ever been. When we arrived at our site it hadn't been cleaned up, still ashes and trash in the fire pit. The dumpsters were completely full on Friday so as you can imagine by Sunday there was so much trash that you could barely see a dumpster was even there. I never did see anyone at the guard house and I dont know where the usual camp hosts were but they have always done a good job of taking care of the park and managing anything that needs done.

Friendly and helpful gate staff. Beautiful view of the lake. Only 3 stars due to our site was so close to our neighbor there was no privacy. It appears not all sites are like that, but it was our first time there and you can’t always judge sites by the map.
