Peaceful. It was our first experience in a national park and absolutely loved how quiet it was. The lake is beautiful. We took a hike on one of the trails near the lake and found streams an some little waterfalls. There is a fishing pier on the other side of the lake with a nice park.
One thing we didn’t realize is how narrow the roads were in the camp grounds. We had a 43’ toy hauler and some of the curves were a little scary. Other then that it was a great week.

We found Fort Hamby to be a beautiful area with adequate space between sites, which were very well maintained and flat. The bathhouse was functional but needs updating and repair. We had our own facilities so that was no problem for us.
