Beautiful setting and spacing between sites. Everything was very well kept. The lighting on our older restroom was much kinder to the night sky than the newer LED lit facilities. The ranger program led by Luke was very good. Please tell Wendy Ross and the team thanks for all they do.

Beautiful campground with great views. Very quiet. Bathrooms left much to be desired, though. Sink faucet handles need to be held to remain on which makes washing hands difficult. Bathroom light was motion sense (I guess?) and would NOT turn on for me in the morning. Toilet was not very clean. If bathrooms had more attention, would have been a terrific stay.

You are close to many trailheads and very close to Medora if you need supplies or just want to visit this charming little town. I recommend the "Cowboy Cafe" for a great breakfast! It was a lot of fun to do the scenic loop in the evening and do the Buck Hill turn off and watch a beautiful sunset and see herds of Buffalo and Mule deer feeding. The Cottonwood campground is well kept, only downside there are no showers. My site was a walk-in and nicely secluded C-59. Next time I might get a site a little closer to the car so as to do less hauling. My final morning I had Buffalo walk into my campsite as I was packing, We just ignored each other and he went on his way. All in all a great campground!
