I reserved two sites, as I could not get the same site two consecutive nights. I stayed the first night in Site 43 and was so mad about the site I was stuck with I left and went elsewhere miles away the second night. I had it with this campground after this experience and wonβt be back.
This is NOT a campsite and it is NOT in a campground. It is a parking spot on the side of the main road going in to where the real camping is. You have to haul your stuff down a hill to eat at the table. Itβs inconvenient and unenjoyable.
I feel this site, and the others like it, were labeled as βcampsitesβ simply to make money and crowd the park even more. It is quite obvious that they are probably picnic sites.

Campground in nice area, support facilities were very good. However, I think campground needs to make major investment in providing elevated tent pads for tent campers, especially in those sites most suitable to tents. Due to wear and tear, many sites have poor water drainage making it difficult to pitch a tent to avoid drainage due to rainstorms and resulting 'sticky' mud. In many respects this campground is way behind in catering to tent camping. Same situation, to lesser extent, occurs in the north Juniper Campground.

Where else will you have Bison wander through the campground? Nice facility.

Had reservations for #13 but was a bit small for our 31ft class C towing a Jeep. Moved to pull through spot #12 next day. Carefully read site descriptions. Some spots small & some
large. Had a visit from a Buffalo right in our campsite one afternoon! Stayed 4 nights and had plenty of time to see what we wanted.
