The stay downstream was super.....................we always enjoy camping there;
NOTE: We stayed in camp site 095 (11 - 15 jUN 23)..........there are two cottenwood trees on the west side. From a safety note, there are many, many dead large branches that over hang the camper area. Someone needs to trim them before a wind storm blows and these or some of these dead branches cause damage to someones camper, besides possible a person injury.
Thank you for taking care of this campground, it is always a pleasure to camp downstream...............LEE SCHOFFSTALL

Nice well kept park. No privacy between sites. It was difficult to get to the water, despite being called downstream. We had fun daytrips form Downstream Campground, including the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot; the National Fish Hachery tourwhich you pass on the way in; and Fort Mandan and Louis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn.

2 things made her trip not perfect. The 1st was that there is no water at each site. I have mobility issues and was not aware that I would have to walk to go get water. The second is, I wished there had been an easy way to get to the River. Again because of mobility issues it was almost unbearable. I did it because I had brought my grandchildren with me. When we went to the state park on the other side of the dam we had to pay to get in. Not that the $6 was a problem for me exactly but since there was no way to really get to the water at downstream you would expect you could go over to the other one and utilize the facilities.

The park had been sprayed for mosquitoes before arrival so there were none which was a welcome change. The shower house was clean and well kept but the motion detector for lighting turned them off too soon.
