Downstream Campground (ND)

Very Clean, easy access. Camp host was very friendly and helpful. Camp sites are very spacious. Rest rooms very clean with showers.

Always a pleasure to stay here. The facililties are great and the hosts are friendly and make it an enjoyable experience

I was suprised how good the water from the hydrants tasted. The fish hatchery near by is a great place to tour in the afternoon if it’s too hot to do anything else.

Beautiful campground with huge spaces. Recreation.gov was not nearly as impressive. The first spot I reserved had a faulty electrical pedastal so I talked to the camphost about changing. The camphost said they could not and I would have to call recreation.gov. After waiting on hold more than 30 minutes with recreation.gov, I was informed that they could not change it - the camphost had to change. After pointing out the circular error - they still would not change my spot. Campground great - recreation.gov: not so much.

Well kept COE park. Level sites BUT electric hook ups only (No water) so make sure you fill fresh water tank. Would definitely stay again.

We used to love camping here, but our last trip was very unpleasant. As we just arrived and were backing into our campsite, the gate attendant showed up to tell us we couldn't park on the grass. It seemed pretty clear that we had just arrived and were getting situated. Our fire pit was full, asked if we could have it cleaned out and we were told they only do that on Wednesday and it was Sunday, so we did it ourselves. The bathrooms in our loop were absolutely disgusting! My son had his 2 dogs with and was playing with them off the leash, the gate attendant said they needed to be on a leash, which was fine. The next day a "park ranger" shows up and threatens us that his boss was going to come and write us a ticket for having our dogs off the leash and that he wouldn't be happy if he had to do that. So for whatever reason, the gate attendants or whoever, just did not want to be cordial and we felt very unwelcome.

Everything was great but the bathrooms were not cleaned the whole time we were there.

We arrived on a Monday/12 Jul 21.........campsite 092.....There were a party of campers in sites 090/091/094, they had a birthday party for one of their kids. But also had a total of Eight (8) dogs and was quite loud, and when they walked the dogs they went to other campsites (not occupied) and let their dogs mess in them without picking it up. On Tuesday had to notify the Camp Host of the problem, they talked to the group but had to get the Park Ranger to come by and talk to them. After that the two larger dogs were gone and the rest sort of complied, They finally left on Thursday morning (15 Jul) and that was the only day that was nice for us camping. We departed Friday (16 Jul). Wanted to let you know what happened, I know you can not control all situations, this was quite rude on the groups part and made our first three days bad. We did the only thing we could do was report them and the Camp Host and Ranger and they did a good job of taking care of the situation......Thank you to them all.
This is the first time this has happened in Eleven years camping Downstream........It is a Super campground and we will continue camping there. Thank You again for all the assistance from the Hosts and Ranger staff......Well Done..............LEE AND MARLENE SCHOFFSTALL

Excellent campsites lots of room right next to the river but for 107 sites they definitely need more than one camper dump or two if you want to go backwards
