We were in primitive with tenters and the parking for our camper wasn’t good. Some had to park campers on the road. Those sites should be just for tenters. We traded with a tenter to get parked appropriately and then wasn’t most handy. The operators we call should be more familiar with the areas.

Plenty of wildlife, fishing and birding. I don't fish but a lot of people were having a good time at the water. The bathhouse is adequate the water warm, hard but clean. The older sites have a lot more shade. I had to hunt for shade at my campsite. Everything was quiet at night.

Have been camping at the Downstream for 13 years now. Love it. Very peaceful and relaxing. The hikes along the Missouri River offer amazing views. The campground hosts were helpful and friendly this year.

Very disappointed in the online reservation system. Many sites are paid for and sit empty because there is not a penalty for failure to cancel. If you would so choose, one could reserve a single spot for every weekend all summer long pay for it and show up when you want.
