Mel Rieman Recreation offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with well-maintained sites and stunning views. Campers appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities, helpful camp hosts, and the spaciousness that allows for privacy. While there are minor concerns like limited cell service and some amenities needing improvement, overall, visitors found it to be a great spot for relaxation and family fun.

Clean, quiet, beautiful. Park rangers were very friendly and helpful. Nice little store with ice, pizza, wood, ice cream, etc. we really like this place!

The lady at the park was very helpful and friendly.
Making a same day reservation was extremely hard! Having to call in to Recreation.gov to make a reservation with hardly any cell service (could not use web site with no cell) and was on hold for 20 minutes. The lady that finally answered was very nice, but not being able to secure a site at the park was extremely inconvenient. It
would have been nice to have a sign letting us know how far it was to the park from the main road.

It would help to have better signs to help locate the camp ground. The whole camp ground is very small and garbage cans were full when we arrived and very full after the holiday weekend. Host lot needs to be neater. We had the campground to ourselves most of our stay those days were very nice. Wouldn’t stay here again sorry to say.

Normally we find that Corps of Engineers campgrounds are pretty high end. Mel Reiman is an exception, most sites would take quite a bit to get the RV level.
I also find that the host sets the tone. Here the host site was sprawling and somewhat messy. Not a good sign.

Some of the sites are suitable for tenting or short trailers only.

This was a very nice campground to stay with nice amenities. We do wish our actual campsite would have been a little bigger and had grass. Otherwise, nice place!

narrow roads, gravel, uneven sites, bathrooms a long way from majority of sites, Polluted reservoir.
For a short stop on the way to somewhere else there are electric hook ups and showers

Pictures were a bit deceiving as the RV portion was quite a bit away from the water and the beach. Overall it was quiet and clean.
