Chaparral Family Campground

Electric needs updated..you will be told if you don’t like what power you do have..pack up your stuff and go home for the weekend. 3 months later issues still not fixed. Electric at camp electric post was getting worse and nothing being done about it so we took his advise and packed up our camper and stuff and left mid season to another campground. Camp owners are the king and queen of campground and campers are their subjects was told. Can’t run ac and a coffee pot at same or voltage drops to between 103 and 94 volts causing surge protector to shut down power coming into camper. Can be a great place if taken care of better and money put back into campground.

I recently stayed at Capparal Family Campground and had a fantastic experience! The location is conveniently situated about 15 minutes from anywhere you'd need to be, which was perfectly fine by me. In fact, the slightly tucked-away feel added to the peaceful and quiet atmosphere that I was looking for in a camping trip.

Yes, there are some permanent residents at the campground, but honestly, in today's economy, who can blame people for finding a more affordable and comfortable way of living? Despite this, the campground was impressively well-kept. Everything felt clean and orderly, which made my stay that much more pleasant.

The campground was also extremely quiet. No loud noises or disturbances to ruin the serenity of nature. Plus, the store on-site was well-stocked with all the essentials, so if you find yourself in a pinch, they've got you covered. It’s a nice bonus to have that convenience so close by.

Backing into my site was a breeze, thanks to the flat and spacious layout of the campground. The sites were easy to navigate and set up, which I really appreciated after a long day on the road.

I’ve seen a few negative reviews, but honestly, I don’t understand the complaints. There are definitely worse (and more expensive) campgrounds out there, and Capparal really holds its own in terms of value and quality. My guess is that the people expecting perfection haven’t done much camping before. It’s a great spot for what it offers, and I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and hassle-free camping experience!

The owners are very nice people. I was stranded at their campground overnight and not only did they let me and 3 babies park they were kind enough to bring me dinner and make sure we were good for the night. Tim and Robin are amazing people! This is a family campground with family values!! Any negative reviews are from people who broke the rules and didn't like it.

Lots of activities for the kids every weekend. Hay rides every Friday and Saturday night. The lake has so many fish just ready to be caught.

With the 7mph speed limit that's strictly enforced, you can feel safe letting your children ride their bikes or walk around the campground knowing their safe.

My children grew up camping here, and now my grandchildren are doing the same. The kids have a safe place to be kids, like we did when we were young.

The campground is an older campground that is being improved every year. Remember this isn't owned by any big corporation, it's a maw and Pop place. The prices are the best in the area for camping.

Big corporations will give you shiny amenities but will also jack the price up so far up that a family nowadays just can't afford it.

The restrooms are older but kept clean daily. The playground is older but new toys were added this year for the little ones.

The permanent campers are amazing people with a strong sense of community, and helping out one's neighbors.

Plenty of weekend sites that are available when you are ready to join us for a great time!

Weekend here in the past and have now became seasonal campers. Peaceful, quiet and serene campground! Clean bathrooms, well maintained roads, large shady spacious sites. Great customer service and response from owners. Owners are open and honest people! All the campers are super friendly and helpful!! Glad to have found this hidden gem of a campground!
