What Guests Are Saying
Belle Starr Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for campers. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and spacious pull-through sites, with ample wildlife to observe. Some concerns include limited restroom availability during off-peak months and the presence of stickers in the area, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

What a great park. We were there in December and so the park was very empty. It was just us and a couple of others. I can imagine it gets very full in the summer. Definitely a gorgeous park with lots of nice beaches. We camped there with a large 45ft 5th wheel and the sites are really long and are concrete and quite level. And they have water and electric. If you are ok with going a few days without dumping, then the The Corps Of Engineer campgrounds are some of the very best we have stayed in and this park is one of them.

A nice campground in terms of quality of the facilities and location. The shower rooms and restrooms could be better maintained, which is why I give a 4-star rating.

Beautiful park setting. As I was there in the off season there were only 12 sites open, but wow. The level site was a long pull through with a double picnic table and a large outdoor patio area. One of, if not, the nicest COE campsite yet. The hosts were lovely and the one shower house still open while a touch dated was kept nice and clean.

The experience was a nightmare. We had a lady come demanding us to be quiet that we couldn't make any noise and was rude. Also we were not told until there that there wasn't any bathrooms available at all but one for the whole site. The place was dirty and bathroom was absolutely gross. The smell was foul also we were told no showers were available everything was locked up just poor poor management poor customer service I have requested a full refund.

Had a very unpleasant experience visiting this camp site. Walked the entire park looking for available showers and additional stalls for that matter, and all were locked and closed. There is no staff available on site, only volunteers. Bob and Terry were very nice, they tried to get us help to unlock showers or additional stalls, but were unsuccessful. Had a volunteer who apparently lives on site, who was very upset at our family and children playing past 10pm, she confronted us and demanded that we be quiet. She left all her bright lights on the entire time we were there (which in mi mind is the equivalent of being disruptive and loud).
There was only 1 stall available to the public on the specific area that we stayed in, with stool that sits inside the stall about 4 ft down, with no way to flush, wash your hands or toilet paper to. Very inconvenient to travel here with children.
While there, another volunteer (woman) pulled up to our site abruptly demanding that we move our vehicle, which was previously "approved" by Bob and Terry, she raised her voice and threatened to have us escorted out if we didn't move the car, causing unnecessary distress to the children with us. Do not recommend.

Site w27 was reasonably level, pull through and very long. Shared water. Bathrooms and showers were old but ok. Never saw a camp host. LOTS of grass burs. Never able to get out dogs out. Dumpsters were not close and we had to drive to them. Good view of the lake. Over all the park is run down and needs lots of improvement.

October 25, 2023. Lovely site (W10) right next to the water. There were many deer throughout the campground which added to the charm. Our site was level with a 30amp hookup. The water connection was some distance away and would require, not only a really long hose, but also a splitter as it is shared by 2 other sites. We were only here one night so there was no visit the bath house. We would definitely stay here again.
