Washington Cove is a well-maintained campground with friendly staff and clean facilities, making it a favorite for many campers. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views, and good access to the lake for activities like kayaking and fishing. However, some concerns include low water pressure, the need for longer hoses, and issues with large rocks in certain camping spots that pose a trip hazard.

We are very pleased with this locations cleanliness and maintenance on the grounds of all the Corp. of Engineers Parks and campsite areas around Copan Lake. The Washington Cove site is a favorite of ours now due to the shade and pavilion it offers in the middle. Would it be possible to offer a rate similar to Birch Cove and Birch Lake when you reserve a Group Shelter, you get some surrounding campsites included in the rate. This would be great for our group of followers! You might consider building more pavilions at Post Oak and Copan Pointe. Here is a shout out to a job well done!!!

I got a call about a week before our trip saying that our campsite is under water and that we need to pick a new spot if there are any left. So I got on and found one and selected it. We get to our camp site and get setup and then went to check out the rest of the camp grounds. Our original campsite had a camper in it along with all the rest! I picked that campsite cause it was close to the water and so my wife and I would have a good view of the sunset. Why wasn’t I notified that my original campsite was available?

I had crazy trashy local party people surround my camp site. They pay $22 and will have a dozen people at their campsite staying in tents and $2,000 dollar campers with their 6-8 cars and trucks parked all over the grass. They had atv and dirt bikes riding around like it’s a race track. First time I experienced chainsaws being used to cut firewood in the campground a 100 yards from me. Their darling offsprings continually walked thru my site just feet from my RV and truck and picnic table. Loose pit bulls and other dog running about. This was the only campground I couldn’t leave anything outside when I went to bed. I packed up all loose items and locked everything so it wouldn’t grow legs. Local people use the campground like it’s a day park partying and throwing trash and fishing in front of your campsites.
Ok, the reason is, Washington Cove has zero enforcement, nada. No park rangers ever seen driving thru the campground. Volunteers doesn’t do anything and was told that they are not suppose to say or enforce any rules.
I left during most of the day and ran the television and air conditioner too drown out the noise.
Worst experience ever, hands down…I was stressed.

Our group had a great week of camping, geocaching and attending the car show in Dewey. Campground and restrooms are very well maintained. We even saw them cleaning the grill. We will be back.

Soap and paper towels would be nice in the bathrooms. The grounds are well kept. Bathrooms are clean. The park overall is relaxing and quiet. We love camping there.

Camp spots could be in better shape by being leveled and using smaller gravel around some table areas.
