We overnighted here while checking out some property in the area. Check in was very simple since I made the reservation and paid on line. No park map was given and directions were given quickly and not clearly, but we eventually found our way to campsite #20. The site was very level both side to side and front to back. The view of the lake was very good from our campsite. We had good cell phone coverage and the data speed was good. There were trees around that will provide some shade throughout the day. There is no formal dog walking area, but there is plenty of room around the park to walk your dogs. There was a very nice children's play area across the road from our site that included swings and slides. This park is quite a ways from any roads, so there is almost no road noise. There are boats that go by from time to time, but not at night. I would definitely overnight here again, and would strongly consider a longer stay, as this is a very nice park.

Looks like they are updating some things and it is such a beautiful setting. The restrooms could use some TLC. Hopefully that is next on the list!

The people I met at the entrance Shack were very nice. All of the grills that I saw and were several seem to be new and in very good condition. The campfire rings have a grill on them which is nice. I noticed several sites that had that cliff-hanging edge which is good for scenery. Strayhorn is a peninsula so you can see the beautiful Lake Tenkiller all around. Because it's a peninsula the wind may be a little more than usual. There's Water and Electric on every site included in the price. And the price for the Corps of Engineers sites are much better than the state parks. Probably the only negative thing I have to say is that some of the showers either don't have enough pressure or not warm enough. I will be going back.
