There is definitely a lot of work that needs to be done with the handicap bathrooms. The one shower never did work on the one side and the other shower was just cold water. They definitely need some updating and the bug problem is disgusting at best. We love Strayhorn camping, but there definitely needs to be some TLC, to keep it from being even more difficult to manage and maintain as time goes on. Just took a long trip too Arkansas and their state parks are so well managed and maintained. It is very sad to see us not taking care of our state parks as well as our Corp of Engineer parks, Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just clean and in working order!

Campground is quiet and well patrolled. Always enjoy camping here. The grass is tall and we have camped there multiple times in June even though it has been rainy this year there has been ample opportunity to mow. One camper even brought their own mower!! There is also a lot of poison ivy growing up the trees in the main camping area.

When we arrived on 5/28 and plugged in we had to keep jiggling the plug to get power. Finally got it so we thought & continued to set up. It was getting dark, went in & turned on the lights & they were dim. Then the frig went off. Tried jiggling the plug again & could not get it to work. Bad receptacle. Told attendants. They couldn't get anyone out there till next day. We had to load up food and drive home. Basically we were jipped out of a nights stay due to no power.
