What Guests Are Saying
Buncombe Creek offers a beautiful and clean camping environment with spacious sites and a nice beach area, making it ideal for family gatherings and fishing. Campers appreciate the courteous staff and well-maintained bathrooms, although there are concerns about poor road conditions and the need for better maintenance of grassy areas. Overall, it's a tranquil spot that needs some improvements, particularly regarding facilities and site upkeep.

The electrical boxes kept overheating, so we put an umbrella over it at all times. Other electrical boxes were covered with pop-up canopies to keep the boxes from overheating. If they could just update the electrical boxes to 50 amps that would help with a lot of the problem we are experiencing each and every year. We visit Buncombe Creek-Site C every year and have for the past 62 years. We hope to continue having our family reunion there, but as new travel trailers are requiring 50 amps to run them, we are struggling to keep it there. Thank you, and we hope to see improvements next year.

Very nice part! Amazing views both next to the trees and next to the lake. The only drawback is the fact that there is no entry on this side of the park to the lake as a swimmer. Additionally, Park, Rangers should check each spot that was vacated to make sure it wasnβt left with trash, it wasnβt a big deal, but there were a lot of cigarette butts everywhere and a few cans and bottles. The fire pit was also used as an ashtray unfortunately. Other than that, I do recommend!

All in all it was a pretty good place the boat ramp was a little narrow but was manageable.

Our campsite was not clean and very overgrown. Our dog was covered in the sticky weeds. There was food left on the ground as well as some garbage from the previous campers. And there were ant mounds everywhere. The restrooms were clean but need some maintenance. The roads in the campground and even the road to the campground was horrendous. So disappointed that a federal park has been left to decline like this. It is a beautiful setting, but unfortunately we have no desire to return.

It was a nice campground. The road coming in though was very rough. We thought we had a flat tire so I stopped to check. There was no hose so we did make it to our campsite and set up. Beautiful Lakeside setting.

We had a great time at this location. Some of the trees that overhang camp ground sites could use a bit of trimming. And, the distance of water connections to the campsites is a bit of a challenge (we ended up making a walmart run for additional hose), but otherwise we had a great time. The restroom and shower facilities are lovely, there's plenty of room and space for us to play both at the individual campsites and on the grounds as a whole. Easy access to the water for fishing/boating as well.
