Sheppard Point is a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained campground, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff dedicated to enhancing visitors' experiences. Many guests appreciate the quiet environment, scenic views of the lake, and positive interactions with hosts like Bob and Fran. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is that the gate locks at 10 pm. That in itself is not the problem. The problem is it is not posted and had it been we would have planned accordingly. We were in a beautiful site (#28) and other than getting locked out and having to leave our vehicle and walk to our campsite it was a very enjoyable stay. Oh, and the bugs, spiders, and other creepy and crawling insects in the bathhouse was not pleasant but I guess that’s to be expected when camping in a non-commercial campground.

We had a great stay at Sheppard Point. We were in #24 and it was a terrific spot. Level, with a nice view of the lake. Plenty of room for our long 5th wheel. There was a tree for shade and a nice concrete table. The campground was full for the holiday weekend but everyone was very respectful and pleasant. We saw some wildlife on our walks. Caught a few fish from the shore.

Site served us well for an overnight as we were passing thru. It's way back there, so be prepared. We stayed in site 22 with a 37 ft travel trailer & it worked well, easy to back into. Mostly level. Good lake view & nicely placed fire ring. The concrete patio & picnic table are fine, but a bit uncomfortable. We just ate inside & used our chairs at the fire. I didn't see a "beach" area, looked muddy, but we didn't investigate as we were staying 1 night and moving on.
