What Guests Are Saying

Tall Chief Cove is praised for its cleanliness, spacious campsites, and friendly staff, making it a pleasant camping destination. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and well-maintained restrooms and showers. However, some concerns were raised about water pressure, noise from certain groups, and the need for improvements to certain facilities, particularly the bathrooms and campsite accessibility. Overall, many campers express a desire to return.

Nice spacious campsites with plenty of trees (A and B loops) and a nice waterfront from most sites. Well maintained campground. Camp host was very pleasant.

Very pretty park -quiet. Downside - not every rv site has it's own water hydrant. Pulled in to my site and discovered that I needed 100' of hose to be able to hook on to nearest neighbors water. A little unhandy but doable. When an rv pulled in beside me on the other side - they had to run 200' of water hose to connect to the same hydrant. Three on one hydrant was still doable but who carries 200' of water hose? Poor infrastructure planning even for engineers.

Very pleased. Had issue with 50amp service on site A26. Informed the host and within 2 hrs the breaker was replaced. Also on site 28-29 the water was leaking pretty bad. This too was resolved at the same time.

We were locked out of the campground - we returned at 11:30 pm from a party in Tulsa. Campers staying in the campground should be given access to the park using a key pad or something

After 7 years being away from Tall Chief we found a big decline in the quality of camping. During our stay we found that a water regulator is mandatory is you don’t want blown pipes in your RV. The pressure >100psi. We never say a park Ranger during our stay. A neighboring camper had their trailer battery destroyed by someone trying to steal it. Dogs running loose in the campground and the beach. Dead timber in campgrounds ( an invitation for Copperheads and rattlesnakes.
The only thing that was very satisfactory was the Park Attendant and Park Host. They were friendly and as helpful as possible.
My question is What Happened to turn this park from a 10 to a 3 in the past 7 years?????
