We are asked on websites not to bring our own firewood due to spreading disease among our forests. It was disappointing to not find firewood for sale. Alsea is one of my favorite campgrounds due to all the hiking trails.

Only issue was that the area around the picnic table was a muddy mess and needs a bit of gravel. Otherwise, it was great!

Excellent, peaceful spot that is managed well for family camping. Spot number 9 where we stayed has a little trail that goes right to the river. Very peaceful to hear the water running at night.

Great time of year for wildflower photography, but cold and rainy. We had a campfire daily as weather permitted. Tent area has large rocks that will hurt your knees. Love the corrals to help tie the tarp up to keep the rain off our tent. Saw a park ranger almost every day. No host yet. Will come again when my family's schedules allow.

Sites are nice size for small camper or tent, fairly private and quiet. Whole campground is well maintained and bathrooms are clean. Lots of trails and road noise is minimal.
