What Guests Are Saying
Camp host Connie received high praise for her friendliness and cleanliness, making for a pleasant stay. While access to water recreation is limited due to a locked gate, the campsite remains a lovely area for camping, with beautiful surroundings. However, visitors should be aware of the small site sizes and the distance to drinking water, suggesting that bringing your own water is advisable.

Camped here and did Tamolitch Falls, Koosah and Sahalie Falls, Terwilliger Hot Springs, and rented a boat on Clear Lake. Beautiful scenery.
Campsite was pretty and close to the Cougar Reservoir. There were some pretty loud people close to us, and unfortunately no firewood available despite being able to have them in established campgrounds.
For people saying the campground is hard to find, it’s really not. I highly recommend downloading the Avenza app and finding maps for the district you’ll be in, you can’t get lost even with no service.

The pictures you see are old.Campground is located in the area of the forest fires about 2 yrs ago. Very dust and tons of biting flies and mosquitoes. The reservoir is surrounded by rocks, dirt, tree stumps & dead trees. Hiking close by, but you have you drive. Camp host is no help..Found a great place to hangout on the river away from the campground. It is where I spent most of my time.

My friends got a little lost getting there, but we found it alright in the end. People tend to drive fast on the gravel road, so there is a LOT of dust kicked up and and be kinda cloudy. The spot we had next to the bathroom didn't smell! The water access is great, stargazing was amazing. Don't come here.

The camp sight had ants all over the place you couldn’t put your tent down. I read reviews they said use campsite 12 I did that it wasn’t great at all and the campsites are very small here right next-door basically to the Manager site the table is full of ants so you can’t eat at the table I’m not sure where are you put a boat in I’ve never slept so horrible in my entire life camping out of the 40 years that I’ve been camping one of the campers where are you don’t have to pay for camping by the lake party their music until four in the morning. you can’t get ice anywhere at the stores they paved the roads while we were there and we got the black tar all over our nice you know $70,000 truck. Advice special stuff at Walmart to get it off took us two days to get the Tar off. The mosquitoes couldn’t been any worse their firewood is seven dollars versus five down at the store.
I can’t really say that I enjoyed myself at this campsite I remember as a little girl how much I love this place it’s not the same the first day we got there they coned off the dock so you couldn’t drive your car down there.
There’s nowhere to shower not only that the bathrooms are so disgusting that it’s like a fly city inside the bathroom I’m telling you it was the worst bathroom and camping history!

Great location, lots of space for multiple tents, easy access to the road and restroom.

Site 12 is the best in the campground. Plenty of room for multiple tents. It's not too close to other sites but not far from the day use area. The last mile of road from Cougar Crossing is very potholed.

It’s actually a beautiful location. The main problem is that there are clear signs telling you how to get there and the road is closed. Before you reserve it should tell you that you have to take a massive detour on a dirt road. Signs to the campground should be modified as the route is the opposite direction. The email told how to get there but was NOT clear and I ended up driving out to find people to ask if they knew an alternative route
