The campsites at Mckenzie Bridge were lovely... especially #8. The shade from the big trees made it extremely pleasant on the hot days. I wish I knew that #7 (which we booked) and #6 (which we didn't) were completely open to one another. My only complaint is the bathrooms. It's disgusting they don't have hand sanitizer in the restrooms. That, and they could have a solar cell to on the roof to have a faint light in the bathrooms rather than it be completely without illumination. Anyway, lovely location.

My wife and I spent four fantastic days a McKenzie Bridge. We were in site #19. It's near the boat ramp, but no motorized boats are allowed so there was no engine noise. The site was reasonably level and large enough for our 27 foot motorhome and extra vehicle. There was more shade than sun, but enough sun for our solar panels to fully charge the batteries. Many of the sites, including ours, had a path to the river. We took in a great rafting trip down the river with Ouzel Outfitters. You meet them at the Paradise campground - about 5 miles down highway 126. I only wish that you could access the hiking trailheads directly from the campground, but it wasn't a big deal - only a few miles down 126. We look forward to visiting this campground again next year.

Beautiful, except for the boyscout leader who asked me if they could start setting up in MY CAMPSITE before check out time. I woke up to a man in my site checking the area and said βI know itβs 11am and check out is 1pm do you mind if we start to setting up?β I told him I didnβt, but if he could please wait until we are done packing up our stuff. He continued to ask 3 more times if we were done and in the end I got annoyed and told him no. I donβt get how he thought it was okay to pester someone out their campsite

We have always enjoyed McKenzie Bridge. This time, not so much. We made a reservation not knowing how busy it would be in the 2nd week of April. Come to find out we were the only ones there. We decided to move to a site further away from road noise thinking because it was First Come it wouldn't matter. We pulled our reserve tag and move sites. Big mistake. The next morning were greated by the a drive-in camp host telling us if we wanted to stay in that site we would have to go online and request a refund from recreation.gov, then pay by envelop for the site we are now in. WHAT! We are the only ones here. So we payed twice and are now fighting a refund.

Beautiful campground with lots of enormous trees and shrubs. As tent campers we felt that the sites are large enough and well spaced enough to allow for some privacy. We were not directly next to the river but could hear it. The total number of sites is small so that seems to lend itself to a quieter setting. We heard very little traffic noise from the highway. We would come back.
