What Guests Are Saying
Mckenzie Bridge campground offers a beautiful and quiet location with private sites, many near the river, making it a popular choice for repeat visitors. Guests appreciate the lovely natural surroundings, shade from trees, and nearby hiking opportunities. However, some have noted issues with site proximity, restroom cleanliness, and a frustrating check-in experience, particularly regarding reservation management and interactions with other campers.

Great campground. Even though the campground wasn’t super quiet, the sound of the river drowned out any neighbors.
We had a site on the river #19 & there was a path that led right down to a little wading area. Very cold!
Bathrooms weren’t great & one even ran out of toilet paper, the host really cut it close.
Definitely worth checking out the McKenzie General store too, just 4 minutes down the road. We ate dinner there one night, they had games to play, & even live music.

Quiet place, except some highway noise. Lush green this season, high water, too. Too high for much safe fishing in late May. Water: only way to get it is to use old fashioned farm pump, a good upper body workout.

Dream campground that was well-maintained, with lots of shade and privacy from the tall trees. We grabbed campsite #11, which wasn't quite on the river but still walkable and within earshot (like a white noise machine). There's a boat loading spot in the campground where you can pull up a chair to the river if you want to. Timmy was a great campground host. Checked us in quickly, sold us firewood from his truck, and let us enjoy our space!

Always a wonderful time. I would have liked to know in advance that firewood was not immediately available for sale as it had been in the past. The camp hosts chopped some for us though so it was fine.

Bathrooms were filthy - not clean when we arrived and never cleaned while we were there. Trash containers were over-flowing when we arrived - emptied four days later.

The campsite had not been tended to. There was burnt bits of firewood all over the table.
The bathroom was disgusting. It was like an outhouse. The floors were filthy.
However, the location and surroundings of the site itself was beautiful.

I'm a water person so I wish I had reserved a spot closer to the boat ramp. It was our first time camping at this campground so we have learned! Our campsite (#3) had a ton of mosquitoes in mid-July. Perhaps being by a moving, rather than still, water source would have improved the mosquito issue.

This was our second year at the campground this year we stayed in space 8. My 2 sons age 5 and 2 really enjoyed their time there and enjoyed playing in the small creeks on the property. The hosts were really nice and were plesent to work with. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Unfortunately our vacation was cut short because of the horrible experience. We have even to McKenzie 3 times in the past and it has always been a lovely stay. This time, helicopters were flying overhead the entire day. One day, they started at 6 am. We had to spend all day away from the campsite and return at dinner time. It was seriously, tortuous. It would have been nice to receive an email prior to our stay offering to cancel because of the known logging going on. We just could not take it anymore and left a day early. Also, there was no toilet paper in any of the vault toilet rooms. Our reservation was from 6/19-6/23 and the last recorded cleaning was 6/16. Good thing we brought wipes! We will never go back to McKenzie.
