What Guests Are Saying

Sutton Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, with clean restrooms and attentive hosts. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, private campsites and the accessibility of nearby hiking trails. However, some guests find the pricing a bit high compared to nearby campgrounds with more amenities, and there are concerns about tree maintenance affecting RV access. Overall, the campground is favored for its tranquility and cleanliness, making it a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

Although this campground doesn't have direct beach access, we always enjoy our stay here. Many of the sites are very private and there are multiple nice walking trails around the dunes areas.

Excellent location near the dunes. The campground is shady and everything was tidy. Large sites, well buffered from neighbors

I have been coming to Sutton Campground for more 40 years. Most everything has not changed within this time. They upgraded some of the bathrooms but not the sites. Most of the time I have been there the bathrooms are clean, the camp hosts are usually helpful. There are some electrical sites, but know water or sewage sites. Over all it is a nice quiet place to stay and has trails you can walk on.

Sutton camp is pretty good. Beach trail seasonally closed to all dogs for snowy plover but there are other hikes inland and outside of dunes that are beautiful. Wish folks would stop reserving spots only to cancel at last minute. We had a bathroom view space (A04 BTW) and tried to relocate but camp host couldn’t help us out and then we got aced out by more aggressive campers taking unused spots. Such is life. Would go back.

Camp sites are well spaced with vegetation in between sites so you have some privacy. Camp host was nice but they were out of fire wood, but there are plenty of places near by to buy some. Large area to walk or bike ride in. and out of camp. We had an electric site that was nice at a reasonable price. Camp ground was real short on waste water dumps and a trail dump site when leaving would be nice, we went to Honeymen campground to dump. This is our second time at Sutton and we will stay there again if we want to be in that area again.

This campground is a hidden gem... set far enough off the highway and is quiet. Most sites are well buffered.
Close enough to all town activities but far enough to be out of the rat race.
Hiking trails are great and access to the beach is not far.
To top this all off , the camp hosts ( who have been here several years) are the best!!
