What Guests Are Saying
Sandbeach Campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly camp hosts and excellent access to the beach and dunes, making it a great spot for families and ATV enthusiasts. Many campers appreciate the spacious sites and enjoyable atmosphere, despite some noise from OHVs and occasional bathroom maintenance issues. While it may not be ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, it provides a fun, active camping experience.

Bathrooms and campsites were great no issues. This campground is clearly for sand buggies and motorcycle enthusiasts. Everyone was nice but clearly expect noise in the early morning and late evening. Great beaches too.

If you do not have ATV/motorcycles, do not camp here. We left after one night. The vehicles go all night, and this spot is right where they all pass to go to the dunes.

Too loud even after curfew. I get it’s for atvs and what not but the noise never ended.

There was no camp host! The bathrooms had not been attended to…..dirty and NO TOILET PAPER for the first two days we were there. The maximum 8 persons per site was not enforced, not even close! I spent hours picking up trash around my site with my grabber and still didn’t get everything. Most likely never go back to this campground again.

Our campsite was clean. We were right across from the bathroom. Had a great time while we were there. We look forward to coming back again next year.

The campground has deteriorated. There are established rules an none of the rules are being followed. ATVs are being driven and parked on the grass areas of the campground. The direction of traffic flow is not being followed. Children are riding ATV,s unsupervised and speeding in the campground areas. There is no way to enforce the posted rules of the campground. If you say anything about the issues, you will only get anger applied to you. Really a sad campground as of lately. No one cares.

Got to Sand Lake at 2:55 for check in at 3:00 pm. People were in our spot we reserved months ago. Walked over to find no reservation dates posted on any of the reserved spot posts. Went over to park host to find there was no trailer or person in the park host spot. Went to the other section, again no park host. Walked over to the other section to find an off-duty sign but a guy walking back to his trailer. Spoke to him as he stated he would see if he could get over there and talk to them but that he had to go put out a fire that someone had left burning with high flames. We walked back to talk to the people in our site and they stated they weren't planning to leave. We told them that we had this site reserved for months. According to check out time they should've been out by 12:00 and it was past 3:30 by this time. There was another big group with them that were there in a different site with a trailer. Not sure if any of them paid to stay there and or if anyone is even checking or knowing when people come and go. They finally left our site and moved to a different one. With no host for who knows how long, no one writing the reserved dates on the post who is watching over this campground. Tuesday, we noticed a trailer and vehicle in the host spot. We were there from Sunday and left Wednesday. While we were there, the bathrooms across from our site WERE NOT CLEANED at all. Trash overflowing everywhere, toilet paper out, toilets/sinks NASTY. When camp host was parked there the sign was always marked off duty. I am unsure what their job duty is as a park host and or what they get paid to do. This was the worse experience here we have ever had. In previous years, the bathrooms were at least cleaned each day, posts were marked with dates, and someone was available for questions. It may not be a busy time of year but seems this place has gone downhill bad! We're inconvenienced and delayed check in/set up so had to cancel dinner and other plans. Why reserve/pay in advance?

Loud music and starting ATV engine every 1 hour till 3am in the morning. No body confronted them. Of course, there is no phone service to call 911.
