About Lost Lake Resort and Campground

Lost Lake Campground is nestled between beautiful Lost Lake and Mount Hood. From Lost Lake Butte, the valley view is breathtaking, and from the viewpoint, guests can revel in the most majestic view of Mt. Hood, its glaciers and Lost Lake. In general, my husband and I love Lost Lake Resort. We have camped there a handful of times but never for more than a weekend. The only thing that prevents us from going more often or staying longer is the facilities. Bathrooms are very rudimentary and generally visited by rats.
I would like to see at least 1 set of flushing toilets and showers someday in the future.

For such a huge park I have never felt crowded or intruded or intruding on any other campers. It is clean, it is well laid out located in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. The lake is fuh-reezing most year around but is not completely intolerable. The water is clean, clear and not allowing motors on the water is the best. The hiking trails from the grounds, as well as the one around the lake are all nice, some tough climbs if you want or easy lolls around the water as well. All clean, all well maintained.
Minus one star for the bathroom situation but then I am not sure how to fix it either. The bathrooms themselves are fine. They are clean, room enough inside and located close/far enough from sites not to sully your experience. The problem is that we have had - twice in a row - people come from outside the grounds (?), drive up in huge vehicles, sit there idling the engine, taking any supplies from the bathroom, found graffiti upon their departure and, when one in our party inquired to reason their length and repeated use (we stayed 3 days, they came by at least twice a day), they became verbally hostile. Again, a public place, bathrooms are not restricted to this camper or that, I get that. But security were not making rounds, when we made our comments to staff we were told management would be informed. All in all a great experience at Lost Lake and we will deffo be back. Just wish they would do something about the bathrooms.
Cheers!

Lovely campground, lodge and hiking areas. Sadly it was a bit chilly and foggy, so we missed the mountain view, but still enjoyed our time at Lost Lake.
