What Guests Are Saying
Drake Peak Lookout offers breathtaking views and a peaceful, secluded experience, perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Many guests appreciated the stunning sunsets and starry nights, along with the new bathroom and functional gas stove. However, the lookout is in need of maintenance, with issues like broken windows and a drafty structure, which can detract from the overall enjoyment during inclement weather.

This is one of the nicer fire towers we’ve stayed at. The wood stove keeps the place cozy (just remember to bring plenty of wood). The kitchen area is well stocked. The views are truly amazing.

This was a once in a life time opportunity. Went in the beginning of October so it was a bit cold (and very windy) but the wood stove kept us feeling toasty. Spent our days adventuring to the nearby peaks and spent our nights star gazing, incredible you can see the milky way! The sun sets and sun rises were absolutely stunning, worth getting up early for. There is a nearby water refill station but it was closed when we went (again early October) so luckily we had brought enough water. This was our first time staying in a fire lookout and will not be our last.

My wife and I had a great time. It was cold and windy (10/9) but when the sun was out the room got really warm. Full sky, sunrise-sunset. 1st night saw UFO...no really. Saw pulsing orbs in SE at maybe 10,000'(we're at 8,000) moved to south in blink of an eye, then SW, and were chased off by 2 military jets. Entire event took less than 15 seconds. Did not come back second night. Other than that we had a peaceful time. The door does not lock so we moved table in front of door. Wood heater is a wood eater, but kinda heats the space.
