Anthony Lakes Recreation area is one of my favorite places to camp, hike, fish or just spend the day. The camp ground provides enough privacy between camo sites that you can do your own thing without disturbing anyone. The fishing is always great and the hiking is an experience that is hard to explain. It's always beautiful. If you want to camp, I highly recommend making reservations as soon as you plan to stay in the primary camp site.

Beautiful campground that makes you feel like you are in an alpine meadow, however, huge issue with noise and people not understanding how flashlights work as they are on their way to the bathrooms. No one in my family slept at all second night due to flashlights shining directly into the tents the whole night- please walk with your flashlight facing downwards, not straight ahead of you into peoples' sites. These new LED flashlights are very, very bright.
It's becoming more and more difficult to have a camping trip where people show up and setup within reasonable time frames. It was already well past 10 pm and very dark when a family came and loudly spent over an hour setting up their tent, only to deconstruct and leave by 6am the next day.
One of the sites' tent pads we set up on was so close to the next site's tent pad that we heard the neighbors snoring, even with our ear plugs in.
Visually, I immediately felt this would be a great place to come back to every year as I really enjoyed the scenery. It reminded me of Yosemite. But due the actual conditions of the stay, will not be coming back. People gotta sleep when they have long days of driving and activities ahead. Some of the sites, while gorgeous with their big boulders, are just configured in a way that make these things more of an issue.

This was a great site on a beautiful lake - second the reco for sleeping pads but otherwise the yurt was awesome, esp the one stormy night!

Very clean camp ground and well organized. Water is available. Great location near the lake and fairly private camping areas.

We loved it! Solar powered lights and charger were a welcome unexpected convenience—but a word of advice, bring some tape or something to cover up the light on it, it’s really bright when you’re trying to sleep. Other than that our stay was fantastic. Very pleasant to have a wood stove for heat. Tons of hiking trails nearby, gorgeous mountain scenery. Enjoyed reading the journal entries others had written. Nice that there were some things left in the yurt like dish soap, paper towels, and games, too. Bed was pretty hard but it’s not a hotel, lol, still way more comfy than camping in a tent!

Beautiful lakes to hike to and around. We had perfect weather. Loved watching the Osprey hunt for fish. The new benches were perfect to sit and enjoy the tranquility of the area.
