Several lighthouses in the area to visit, a pioneer museum in Florence, an impressive myrtle wood factory in Reedsport, a relatively warm lake for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Flush toilets and multiple water spigots.

We make an annual trek to Carter Lake campground with a group of family and friends. This involves dry camping but with the benefit of a common area bathroom that has running water for toilets and a sink. Our campsite #6 is sufficient for us and our 17 foot trailer. You need to make friends or have friends in #7 because their table is very close by. Other sites have their own challenges in terms of size and access. There was no evidence of the sites being "cleaned" after the prior occupant leaves. There was burned wood and torn up boxes in our campfire ring. The Lake is nearby, warm and small children have a large shallow area in which to play. Lots of birds and small animals dart around. The trail to the coast is well marked with some challenges in walking up and down the few dunes that lie between.

Really nice campsite. My daughter enjoyed paddle boarding around the lake. There is a nice little beach to lay out on.

We paid for it but stayed elsewhere, as it has no showers

Campground and bathrooms were clean. Larry, the volunteer host was awesome. Site 7 was very very small, barely fit my super small dome tent. Absolutely no privacy between site 7 and 8.

Very little cell coverage from TMobile and Verizon. TMobile could get some texts sometimes.
Sites are well maintained, but a lot of them are VERY short, check your length! There was one trailer and truck literally in the road because the didn't fit. Some very pretty lakeside sites for tent campers.

I have been camping here for over 30 years the campground is usually nice and peaceful this time a guy with a gas powered boat came in and one guy had a generator I wish these two things were not allowed at this camp.
