Lovely as always at Carter Lake CG! Sites on the East side are quite private amongst thick foliage. Rhododendron are beautiful in May. Lake was chilly, but the kids don’t mind. Fun to paddle but the wind picks up by early afternoon. Beach is gorgeous sand, but smaller early in the season when the lake is full. Fellow campers are always friendly and respectful, good groups of families for the kids to play with. Camp host Larry is friendly, helpful and runs a chill, but orderly campground - no dogs off leash, clean bathrooms, etc. Our favorite spot on the Oregon Coast!

Site wasn’t available until after check in time & there was no available host. The host once available did not help & was not helpful.

Very little access to the lake. Best to use a kayak to fish.

What a great campsite, quiet and secluded with access to the lake for swimming. No dune access so no loud atvs or trucks. The camp host was amazing and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

sweet little lake in a small and quiet campground. good for small children with shallow entry and nice swimming temperature. one mile hike to the ocean, up and down a few dunes.

Great campground lot of activities to enjoy! One thing would be nice like showers but you can't have it all, outside of that awesome place for family and pet's and it had to be one of the quietest campgrounds I've ever visited!

Carter Lake is a hidden gem. The sites feel private, the lake is lovely (small, quiet, sandy beach, warm water), and the campground is friendly. The camp host, Larry, is great! He runs a tight ship keeping the campground safe, clean, and orderly, while also having a laid-back feel that makes the campground welcoming for everyone. I highly recommend this spot and will return again to swim, paddle, and relax!
