We stayed six nights and six days and loved our experience. It was my first time visiting Oregon and my first time seeing the Pacific ocean and feeling its refreshing touch. We had three bright sunny days (great for solar charging) and two with rain and fog that totally surrounded us. Given that our stay was in late October and early November we felt the parking lot was lightly used by OHV enthusiasts, a few motorcyclists and folks who chose to drive their cars or trucks out onto the beach or in the Dunes. On two separate days we were asked to help rescue pickup trucks that got stuck on the beach with the tide coming in. They owners had to pay $750 to have a professional beach wrecker-tow truck come pull them out. Ouch! Everyday there were many vehicles that visited with folks who came to walk their dogs, take a hike, go fishing or surfing or biking. The rangers and camp hosts were all very courteous, friendly and informative.

Perfect spot for spending a few days riding the sand dunes. Camp sites had a bit of trash, and fire pits were full of ashes.

It’s just a huge asphalt parking lot. Big rigs with their nosy OHVs….clean bathrooms
Behind the dunes beautiful ocean and quiet. In distance sounds of OHVs….
