What Guests Are Saying
Horsfall Beach is praised for its great location right next to the beach, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts. While there are some issues with noise from day users and off-road vehicles, many visitors enjoyed the scenic environment and overall experience. The campground is well-maintained, though some campers noted issues with site assignments and the need for better management of noise and parking.

This is normally our go-to spot for dune camping. There is usually a host trailer on site but the host site was vacant this trip. When we arrived, the lot was fairly full and there were at least 5 loose dogs running around during our entire stay. We have a senior dog that is part of our family and the loose dogs running up on her was very disturbing. We also had to wait 2 hours past check in time for someone to move out of our reserved spot. The woman there was waiting for her husband to return and help her move. The worst experience we’ve had here by far. And the normal slight incline to the sand trail had been changed drastically to a steep edge due to waves. Just a bummer all around.

I was in site 5, Sunday and Monday nights. There was no host. When the weekend crowd left it became fairly quiet. Everyone who had dogs let them run free. Fortunately, they were fairly well behaved and kept their dogs around their sites. With no host or rule enforcement, there were several decrepit vehicles that pulled in late and left early, doubt they paid their 3. Random cars would pull in, do a loop and leave. Most seemed to be curious tourists but some were clearly looking for easy pickings. Everyone staying there had their easily stolen items chained up or locked away when they weren't there. The beach speed limit is 25mph.... Which nobody obeyed, myself included. Treat it as a guideline at high tide and fly when the tide is out! It was great fun there. -1 * for the online only reservations, dogs, and no host. Also, the firewood you can buy at the Safeway gas bar is super bone dry, $6, and the same size and cost as from the big firewood bin at the first store across the bridge. Their wood was quite damp though.

Great spot for families! Close walk to the beach and great access to ride in the beach or out to the dunes. My only complaint is that people come flying in that aren’t camped there for beach access and usually there’s kids riding bikes and playing. I wish they’d put a big speed numb before the campsites.

One of favorite places to visit with dune access. The beach is super close which makes it great for walking dogs and just taking in the coastal air. The campground is always quiet this time of year and very peaceful. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain while we were there which contributed to the lake of water outside of our trailer door. I added rubber boots to my list of things to have in the trailer!

So long as you enjoy a campground adjacent to a great beach, you will be satisfied with Horsfall Beach. It’s a paved parking lot. So what. If you have good solar power, you’ll be fine. Even if you need to run a generator, you’ll be OK. We’ve stayed here several times and have enjoyed it every time.
There are wonderful hikes within an hour’s drive or less as well as the expansive beach. The price is right with our 50% discount for having a GEEZER CARD. If you have to pay full price, well……. You decide.
Overall, we enjoy coming back here. Decent cellular service and outstanding exposure for satellite TV.
