What Guests Are Saying
South Jetty Sand Camping offers a memorable outdoor experience, with proximity to both the beach and dunes, making it ideal for exploration and relaxation by the fire. Reviewers enjoyed the clean environment and the fun atmosphere, especially for those with off-road vehicles. However, some concerns were raised about navigating the trails, particularly regarding high water and soft sand, which could pose challenges for less experienced campers.

Made reservations over the phone for 3 people and one vehicle. Arrived as it was getting dark to learn that you cannot access without special 4WD sand vehicles. The host said that this happens all the time and he has advised “them” multiple times to make this clear on the web site and to the phone operators. They would not let us “camp” (not even just sleep in our van) in the parking lot. The area is very nice. We never saw our campsite. We stayed at the driftwood campground 30 minutes away and that was a good experience. We requested a refund but have not heard back yet.

The entrance was blocked there were no clear signs leading in any other direction, we needed to find another place

If I could give 0 stars I would. It never said when we booked it all sites were access only by ATV or Dunebuggy or whatever. And so we spent over an hour trying to FIND the campisite no signs telling where the sites were or anything then my car in 4WD got stuck and I was stuck in the middle of nowhere miles always from the road with no service for 3 hours and had to get pulled out. And then couldn’t figure out how to get a refund. So we got the hell out of there and went to Thousand Trails campground and had a fantastic time. Worse camping experience of my life. Everyone we asked to help us was so rude and the “number” aka hotline that was in the email was a 2hour wait time for help absolutely atrocious and awful. Would never recommend this campground to anyone I know.

What is the point in booking and paying for a site for sand camping when anyone can just walk through the path to your site? Not to mention the walk path to your site is long, high and far! People have to carry their stuff and that is exhausting! But the public access to your site does not make sense! We paid, but left because their was no privacy at all! Consider that a park donation and we will never come back ever again and will spread the word of the terrible site and lack of privacy.
