Sites are very open, so not a lot of privacy, and the road is nearby so there is some noise. Overall, a nice little campground though.

We booked space 1 and I think that was the only reason we enjoyed this campground. The other spaces are wide open and close together whereas space 1 was all on its own surrounded by trees and private. There's a little staircase to the spot which make it look pretty cool but keep that in mind if you have anyone with mobility concerns. Only downfall to this space is there is no access to the river, we didn't care though because we didn't want to use the river anyways. Bathrooms are single person stall-type buildings with no lighting, no sink, no mirror. The highway is also very close so if you're hoping for peaceful sounds of nature you won't get much of it. Host was very nice!

There are two Tyee campgrounds. One is on the Umpqua 11 miles from Sutherlin. The other Tyee campground is on the coast. Rec.gov gave us directions to the Tyee campground on the Umpqua which is where we needed to be. Unfortunately, the reservation was at the coast which was 50 miles away. Needless to say, it made for a long night trying to get other last minute accommodations. Perhaps changing the name to Umpqua Tyee and Coast Tyee would eliminate this problem

I absolutely would not recommend staying here. It doesn't offer any privacy and you're right next to a busy road. Worst of all, I booked online and my spot was somehow given to a person who booked over the phone. I wasn't even given a full refund.

General
- Guidelines for a safe visit to the Siuslaw National ForestThe Siuslaw’s campgrounds, day use areas, and trails continue to be open for public enjoyment. While you are visiting the Forest, please adhere to the following guidelines. These guidelines will help ensure a safe and healthy visit for you and your family, our employees and volunteers, and other visitors: Please keep in mind that restrooms are generally cleaned and disinfected at least once daily at the more popular campgrounds and day use sites, and once to three times a week at other sites.Be prepared to provide your own soap, sanitizer, or disinfectant.If no trash receptacle is provided, please protect your public lands by packing out your waste and trash.
- Forest Service-operated campsites on the Siuslaw National Forest are currently available by online reservation only. Visitors can make reservations online through this website (preferred), or via phone by calling the recreation.gov phone line at 877-444-6777. If you call this number, please be prepared for longer-than-usual wait times. Please note that the Siuslaw National Forest does not have any control over the recreation.gov phone line, so we ask you to please prepare by making reservations well in advance.
- There is a 14-day in 30 rolling days camping limit on the Siuslaw National Forest. The 14 days does not have to be consecutive. The 14-day limit covers the entire Siuslaw National Forest and not just this campground as shown in the Rules Section. This means you cannot go to other campgrounds on the Siuslaw National Forest after reaching the 14-day limit.
- No RV hookups provided
- Sites must occupied within first 24 hours of arrival time. Otherwise unoccupied sites will be considered a "no-show" and will be released.

- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Each campsite has a parking limit of 2 vehicles.
- On beaches designated for snowy plover nesting, certain activities are limited from March 15 through September 15. Read more about snowy plover management here.
- This campground is located in close proximity to multiple lakes and wetlands. Due to this, there can be an abundance of mosquitoes between the months of April and August. Please be prepared for this.
