The camp host at Alder Glen has set a very high standard for our future visits to the BLM campgrounds in the Nestucca River Recreation Area. The campsites were raked and tidied, fire pits were cleared between campers, and the restrooms were the cleanest and most well stocked with toilet paper that I have ever experienced at a campground. I am also very happy with the reservation system and the opportunity it provided for us to visit one of our favorite campgrounds in Oregon. This is a beautiful and popular spot on the Nestucca River. I would recommend making reservations as early as possible. Even though our trip was in late September, the reserved sites were full and I only saw one vacant first come first serve site that weekend.

Such a beautiful campground that's right along the Nestucca River with a lovely waterfall! We stayed in Campsite #11, which is more secluded from the other sites and that's exactly what we love! Old growth trees throughout the camp that make it more secluded, with Site #9 directly across from the waterfall but we could see it from our site, too. The other sites are beautiful, mostly right along the river, but some just across the camp road, if that's what you like. The sounds of the river and waterfall, lulls you to sleep every night. Made friends with the chipmunks and crested blue jays, there. Great crawdad fishing, we ate like kings! You can fish for trout, as well. There's also a fishing platform for ADA folks that has a sidewalk down to it. The Camp Hosts, Troy and his wife, Gina are the most friendly, fabulous people that truly care about the camp! They keep all the sites spotless, raked, fire pits cleaned out, weed whacked, leaves blown off the sites and the camp road, tidy pit toilets with t-paper well stocked and make rounds every day to keep the visitors safe and work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is happy and the campground pristine! The very best Hosts we have ever met! Kudos are sent to Troy and Gina for being 5- Star Hosts and to BLM for hiring them!😁👍💖 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! They deserve a huge raise! We stayed here back in July and were so impressed, that we booked more stays. Yes, it's a bit remote, no cell signal and a drive to the town of Beaver for ice for the coolers every few days, but, SO worth it! We will be back, definitely! Thank you so much, for an awesome vacation stay, Troy and Gina! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💖 From, Katrina and Charlie, Site#11 😁👍

It was 5/5 stars for what it was. Only docking a star because it didn’t have showers, trash cans, firewood for sale, etc. otherwise it was great! My site had a view of a mini waterfall. The river was very close. The people there were nice. Not too many bugs. Apparently there were a lot of crayfish in the river.

The only drawback was having the campsite very close together. All our neighbors were wonderful. The trail up to the first bathroom was difficult for me using a walker. The trail had several sink holes in the path, so at night it was hard to see. Otherwise it is a beautiful campground and I plan to visit again.

Nice little campground on the Little Nestucca. The best site is # 2 which is FCFS. 5,6 and 7 are very small and close together. Best for a group to get all 3 . Camphhosts are friendly and go above and beyond in taking care of the camp ground. Pit toilets were exceptionally clean!

The camp hosts are fabulous!! I was in spot #5 end of June and they have made a huge improvement to the sites in the campground in just over a month.

Overall this was a really sweet spot to camp! Right next to water, waterfall, secluded, small, and the bathrooms were clean.
We really liked site 07 at first, but it was really close to 06 and felt like we were camping with strangers.
One thing to note is you have to pack out any trash. I don't remember seeing anything about it, and only figured it out when we asked the camp host.

We would definitely come back though!
