What Guests Are Saying
Camp Sherman Campground is a beloved annual destination known for its beautiful setting, proximity to the river, and great star gazing opportunities. Many visitors appreciate the clean facilities and the welcoming atmosphere, with easy access to local hiking trails and nearby towns. However, some guests have raised concerns about noise from generators, overcrowding, and management issues, though these do not seem to detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

Sweet spot, immediately adjacent to the river, and for a trailer newbie, many drive-throu sites. That said, as a newbie, the lack of electricity was a learning experience. Next time, I'll come equipped. Some sites have more exposure than others, a consideration for solar systems.

We love this campground it’s usually nice and quiet and respectful. 2 of our nights there was a group that was loud until 2am which was not monitored by anyone. Such a bummer because usually you can hear the river. The campground is clean and well-kept, great location.

Just setting in my chair in one foot of water and watching the borate bombers and water dropping helicopters do their thing.

We went to our camp sight on our scheduled date and it had a different name on the sign. There was not a camp host at the host site, we waited around for an hour but know one showed up,so we camped in the woods that night off a dirt road.We did not want to set up and have the persons whose name was on the sign show up and have to move our trailer. When we went back the next day a gentleman at the host sight said he did not have information as to why the wrong name was on the sign and that his wife would be there the next day in the afternoon. Evidently they were changing camp hosts at this point. There was supposed to be someone around that knew more about things but we were not able to find him so we just camped remotely. We have been camping on the Metolius for over 25 years and not only got married there, but we were celebrating our 18th anniversary. We made it a good time, but it was disappointing to not get our spot. THANKS!!

Less than 100 yards away was a controlled burn. Nothing on burn site of forest service (msg from August on phone) to indicate this. Miserable one night instead of three pleasant nights. One of us asthmatic and we did stay to morning but should have packed up that night in the dark.
Nice camp ground, the controlled burn was unbearable.
Take care,
Randy Dickinson
