Had a great time. The camp sites we were on was on a hill, so it made unloading hard work. The campsite felt like it had its own personal beach so that was fun. Lake was fairly busy during day.

Someone was in my campsite #5 when I got there as my name was NOT on the sign. Bummer.

Our stay at this site was less than desirable. Information on the site was conflicting, depending upon whom one asked. After a lot of time-wasting hassle, we aborted the stay.

We loved the area with our two small kids. Especially the warm lake and mountain view.

Signage at the entrance could be improved regarding COVID response, garbage information, and hours/closures for lake house and/or boat rentals. We stuck to the campsite and had a fine time but would feel more knowledgeable if we could go back and do it again.

Be prepared to pack out all of your trash.

Try not to take a low clearance car like we did (2012 Odyssey - minivan) as the road there is gravel and hard to navigate in the last mile.

Print out your own map for day hiking in the area before you go.

Bring your own water, floatation devices, and lots of sunscreen.

Hiking in the area was great. Not much luck fishing but we saw bald eagles on two occasions. Beautiful and peaceful.

We left one day early because forest fire operations were using the lake to pull water by helicopter to dump on a fire a few miles away...a constant roar.
