I love the gorge campground. The sites by the river are nicer.
As usual there was someone nest to us using their generator most of the time. It was annoying.

It is a beautiful, clean campground right on the Metolius River.

This is one of several USFS sites along the Metolius River. The sites are nicely spaced, the bathrooms were clean and the campground hosts were very welcoming. They even helped us jump-start our car (leaving the cargo light on never helps ;-). Despite not having water, it was a great facility. We were able to drive to a nearby USFS campground and fill our water container without any issues.
One suggestion: Create and clearly mark an access trail to the river. I was uncomfortable walking through other campsite to get to the riverside trail.

The campground is lovely. No water or hookups and that is just fine. The camp hosts were friendly and very helpful. Love this place!!!

It was difficult to get to the river
It seems like all of the sites on the river expanded to take up the whole area

Way to complicated these days!!! What happened? A family just wants to go camping. Those days are gone. So sad...

Prime spots along the River that were reserved months in advance we’re not used. They never showed up!! Happens all the time. This full reservation system sucks. Pisses me off
