What Guests Are Saying
Sheep Springs Horse Camp is praised for its beautiful setting and excellent trails, including routes to the Metolius River and Bear Valley. Campers appreciate the new steel corrals and well-maintained facilities, though some noted issues with road conditions and camp host availability. While there were minor inconveniences, such as bee activity and bathroom supplies, overall, visitors express satisfaction with their experiences and the scenic nature of the camp.

Very nice horse camp, and although there's only one signed trail, there are plenty of roads and social trails to ride. Destinations not to miss: the Metolius River and the Head of Jack Creek.

There is a question regarding the arena/round pen that I’ve seen at every horse camp. We went to use the one at Sheep Springs and were chased out by the camp post. The camp host stated it was part of his camping site and we were not allowed to use it and then barricaded the gate. My understanding is this is for use of any of the campers. He also had two cats that were roaming all over the camp ground and witnessed hunting birds and squirrels. The noise level of neighboring campers went till midnight so it was difficult to sleep. There were also two campers in the campground that did not have horses. Last year we did not have any of these issues. Otherwise, the trails in the area are wonderful and it’s nice to have water for the horses at the campground.

Beautiful camp. So thankful OET replaced the wood corrals with steel. Love the trails. This trip we did the Shovel Loop and the Brush Creek Loop.

We love this horse camp. The bees were a little worse than last year. There were bee traps put up, but they were a nuisance when you are cooking. I highly recommend this camp!

Great camp hosts! New pipe corrals are so much better than pole corrals. Trails were well maintained. Only criticism is the lack of road maintenance from Jack Lake Road in to Sheep Springs. In almost 20 years of camping there, the road has NEVER been this bad!

Wonderful. Will do again!
Was hard to back into my # 7 campsite tho- the 2 trees at the front are tough to negotiate. Thank you!

Nice camp with great trails! Have to hand pump water- but at least there is this option. We try to bring our own in, as it’s easier this way.
Bear siting on road in- not far from camp. Road in was pretty washboard. Cell service (Verizon) was okay..
