The sites are large and well taken care of. There are beautiful trails across the road that follow the river. Quiet, serene, great star gazing.

The campground was very nicely maintained. Campground host was very hospitable, He kept things tidy and was very aware of campground happenings. I felt very secure. The surrounding area was new to me, but very interesting and pretty. It might help to have copies of a good map of the area for the host to provide to campers and riders. A couple of neighboring campers had no map and were delighted when I gave them an extra copy of mine. Trails and roads were well maintained for vehicle and horse travel. It was overall a very good experience--only the first day and night weather was difficult with a lot of cold rain. Nothing anyone could do about that and to be expected in late September. Hopefully I will be back, but perhaps earlier in year.

Camp hosts are always great! Super helpful as we were seeking out some lakes to ride to.
Beautiful scenery, well maintained trails.
This is our annual “kick off to summer” starting point for horse camping and we really enjoy the layout of this particular camp

Very nice horse camp. Didnt have any problems with non horse campers. Thank goodness. That really annoys me. I highly recommend sheep springs horse camp

Nice to ride along the water. Would have been better if one could have easy access to cross over water.

From Sisters, Oregon, take Highway 20 west for about 12 miles. Turn north onto Jack Lake Road/FS Road 12 and continue for nearly 6 miles. Turn left onto FS Road 1260, then right onto FS Road 200. Sheep Springs will be on the right hand side.
Sheep Springs Horse Camp is accessible via Highway 20, which is approximately 12 miles to the southeast.

General
- Sheep Springs Horse Camp is intended for equestrian camping
- Horses must be kept in stalls provided, and may not be teathered or picketed outside of stalls
- Horse Campers must use Certified Weed-Seed-Free Hay
- No hookups are available
- Please Note: One RV with tow vehicle per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- During your time in Central Oregon, you can find wildfire, prescribed fire and smoke information at centraloregonfire.org
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Camping or otherwise occupying a single location (including leaving camping equipment and/or related supplies) for a period longer than 14 consecutive calendar days is prohibited. ‘Location’ means the occupied area, the occupied campsite, and the National Forest System lands in the immediate vicinity thereof. Camping or occupying any location on all National Forest lands for more than 28 calendar days total during a calendar year is prohibited.
- NO generator use is allowed in campgrounds. Silent power banks or battery powered devices are allowed.
