What Guests Are Saying

Blackberry is a beautiful, quiet campground located along the Alsea River, ideal for kayaking and family activities. Many campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpful camp hosts. However, issues such as overcrowded sites, noise, and overgrown access to the river have been noted, leading to mixed experiences among visitors.

Such a nice quiet place close to the beach but away from the bustle and the wind. The person that was in the spot before us broke down and they moved us with no problem and no fuss. Will definitely go back again

Enjoyed our stay at BlackBerry. The camp host were great and kept the campground very nice. They were attentive and loved seeing them check in through our stay. Great location that made day trips to the beach very easy. Note there is not much shore line on the river at the campsite but easy access on boat ramp to but in floats, kayaks and the likes.

It is a beautiful site by the Alsea River. The fall foliage was delicious. The site felt less than rustic because residential areas encircle it. The houses were not noisy, but neighboring campers' generators were during the supper hour. (I did not see any posted rules about this, but there should be some. ) The Rec.gov site seemed to indicate that we'd need to reserve, but I guess we wasted the $8 fee because the campground was mostly empty. The people we met here (during this Covid period) were nice, but not wearing masks.

We camped in late October and it was so cold in our VW that we struggled to sleep one night, but the days before and after, spent at the beach just 17 miles to the west were wonderfully sunny and warm. I wonder what makes that pocket of cool there in the woods by the river? There was cold air coming from the North, but I would have thought the forests and coastal range offered some protection from that. Blackberry is probably a great summer escape for that reason.
