What Guests Are Saying

Blackberry is a beautiful, quiet campground located along the Alsea River, ideal for kayaking and family activities. Many campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpful camp hosts. However, issues such as overcrowded sites, noise, and overgrown access to the river have been noted, leading to mixed experiences among visitors.

Campground was well maintained and clean. The weather was not great and aside from fishing, there not much to do there. Great to read, hang around camp, but we left a day early because we were bored.

It was a nice time. I wish they had one more set of bathrooms because if your at the end it’s a bit of a walk to the bathrooms.

Worst camp hosts I’ve ever experienced. We had a double spot and they told us we couldn’t have 2 camp trailers even though the map clearly showed we had a double spot. When we pointed that out to them the proceeded to hassle us and let us know we would NOT be able to camp with 2 campers next year. Doubt we will ever go back if they are the hosts. Sad because we love that campground and it’s a half way point for our family’s to meet and camp. They were mad we proved them wrong, so they actually tore the map down that showed it’s a double spot, but it’s online on both the forest service site and American Land & Leisure website.

Blackberry has been a family favorite for over 40 years. We have watched this campground grow into a beautiful spot to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying nature. With so many different types of camping spots; river side, full sun, mostly shady, there is something for everyone who is looking for a small campground with limited amenities, but a wonderful vibe. Not too far from many of the Oregon coasts greatest attractions including the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the three museums of the Lincoln County Historical Society, and Newport's working Bay Front.
