What Guests Are Saying

Blackberry Campground offers a beautiful, quiet setting along the Alsea River, making it ideal for kayaking and swimming, with many shaded campsites. The camp hosts are friendly and maintain cleanliness, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. However, concerns about safety due to fast-moving bicycles, noisy campers, and some management issues have been noted, leading to mixed reviews about the campground's organization and access to the river.

We loved our campsite next to the beautiful Alsea River... My surfer husband went for a long swim and got up the next day, drove to the beach and went surfing!!! The campground was awesome and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed visiting with them. We had a great spot for new (to us) little pop-up camper and enjoyed the firepit and picnic table for our meals. It was a perfect 3 days!! Except for one thing.....the people across from us (who were very nice) used a noisy generator twice a day....never after 10pm, which I know is the regulation, but still it was very irritating to hear that roaring sound for an hour each evening... ugh.... (Maybe there should be a designated area for people with generators???) Aside from that, we LOVED Blackberry Campground and hope to return some day!!! Thank you so much!!!

Blackberry campground is one of those hidden gems in the Forest Service system. It is in verdent Alsea River valley 18 miles from the coast...close enough to the coast for great sleeping by night and inland enough for wonderful river play.

Cute, small campground, but we observed absolutely no camping etiquette while we were there. The cars and tents crammed and overfilled in sites, kids were running around in diapers, babies crying and screaming, people were cursing loudly and yelling at their kids and animals all day and night, dogs unleashed, the campground was loud and seemed unattended, although the hosts were there. We left after one night, after a long, noisy night and an early wake up by more, loud close tenters. Boat ramp present, but the river is only a trickle and only benefits tubers now. We will not be back. Very disappointing. There is a lot of potential for this campground.

We have a large family and it was plenty of room to run for all our kids. River was close for swimming and fishing. Everyone was super nice there! Camp hosts were great!

Arrived at camp with no issues at all. We had a big group of people and stayed for two nights, we had no issues and we all had a blast!
