Great location - you can play in the river at the campsite or nearby day use areas, also a 20 minute drive to the beach. Camp hosts were lovely, very kind and kept the bathrooms and campground clean. We had a wonderful time relaxing and playing! Will definitely return!

Nice relaxing place. Post manager was so friendly and nice. The bathroom was clean than any other camping place. (No showroom.)
So close to the seaside! We went to the seal rock!
Only 30 mins. We had such a great time!

Beautiful campground in the trees, right on the Alsea River. The camp hosts were great and provided us with excellent suggestions for Kayaking and local eats. Facilities were well taken care of.

I would give this campground 5 stars, but there is 1 exception. The campground is awesome, clean, great parking spots especially if you camp with motorcycles. Bathrooms are very clean, and fully stocked. The only setback, is the major overgrowth of vegetation leading to the river. So it's difficult to get to the river to do any fishing, or any other activity. There are steps and paths leading to the river in several areas, but the boat launch area is quite overgrown on both sides of the launch, and paths leading to the water. If the campground would consider brining in landscapers to bring down that overgrowth vegetation so people can get to the water easier, it would be a 5-star campground. I do hope they consider because we plan on visiting this campground every year.

This is a pleasant coast range forest campground is located along the banks of the Alsea River adjacent to Highway 34 (State Scenic Byway). Young folks enjoy playing and fishing in the river during warm weather at the boat ramp. Walkways from individual campsites down to large rock slabs in the river are steep and treacherous and not suitable for older visitors. Many of the campsites are located in the forest and a few are on the edge of a large open grass area. Visiting the beach requires a 20 mile drive to Waldport.

We have been going there over 30 years. We love it. This year the bathrooms(outhouses). We’re not in the best shape. They needed to be emptied and weren’t the cleanest.
