What Guests Are Saying
Cape Perpetua campground offers a beautiful setting with clean facilities, including well-maintained bathrooms and friendly hosts. Many campers appreciate the proximity to stunning hiking trails and the peaceful sound of a nearby creek. However, some sites lack privacy, are not level, and can be affected by noise from the road and neighboring campers. Overall, it's a favorite spot for those looking to enjoy the Oregon Coast.

It was lovely hearing the babbling brook as a backdrop for our nights by the fire. I really like the flora in this area - leaning more toward rainforest. Many of the tents sites were secluded in wooded areas. Restrooms were clean and stocked. The group site was really well-designed and inviting. It was a nice hike to the beach and tidepools. Hope to get more hiking in next time. And of course, the viewpoint is incomparable. We were inside a cloud when we parked. I recommend watersox-type shoes for the volcanic rock tidepools and light windbreakers.

The Cape Perpetua & Yachats area is our favorite of the entire Oregon coast. We always plan our trips there to coincide with the highest tides in the evening, when the wave action is most spectacular and the lighting is best. We hike from our camp site to access the rocky coastline scenery from the Spouting Horn to Devil's Churn. We drive into Yachats to walk the 804 trail.
Cons: I knocked off a star because most of the parking pads at the campground are quite sloped, making it difficult to level our little motor home. The campground was build so many years ago there were probably not any motor homes in existence to consider. Of course, If you are tent camping that will not be an issue for you. Note that some sites are ideal for tent camping because the tent pad and picnic table are very secluded, away from the road and in the woods.
No T-Mobile cell service. This became important when I had a medical emergency during the night. We broke camp at 1:20 a.m. and drove into Yachats to get cell service, then north on Hwy 101 to a hospital in Newport.

Beautiful campground with many options for sightseeing within walking distance. Used the trails from campground to explore beach, tide pools, old growth forest, and more!

Site #26 You will never be level or close to it here. this slopes down away from road. We had to put our popup trailer tires all the way to the back , bed in bushes to even think of getting close to level. 12 ft box popup. If you are any bigger footprint it will be a no go. This is a common issue at many sites in this campground. Car tent camping is fine but trailers? not so much be warned . restrooms are very nice, flush & clean. Host is pleasant and helpful with info and numbers as we needed mobile mechanical help on our trailer. Next to a bubbling stream, great white noise or background soothing. beautiful forest yet open too. some privacy some sites.

We were lucky enough to get 1 night on last minute booking. The campsite was clean as were the restrooms. The trail to the giant spruce was great and the trail along the beach was simply incredible. We are looking forward to visiting Cape Perpetua again when we can spend more time.

Fun hiking trails. Some sites are not very private. Great location. Love the town of Yachats and tons to do close by.

We got very lucky to have sites 27 and 28 in our group. They were a bit off the road and private. Many sites at this campground are very exposed to the road and very small. Ours were small too but we did fit a tent on them. Many of the men’s rooms were closed so they had to use the women’s sides which made the bathrooms crowded but they were well maintained. The camp host was friendly and helpful. The campground is near some GORGEOUS areas so that was by far the only reason that will bring us back.

Amazing and beautiful location. Would love to camp here again but it is a very popular camp ground. The hikes in the grounds are beautiful. Some are easy and other more challenging but I would recommend to try them all.

We loved our time at Perpetua. Our family and friends were able to camp close to each other. The grounds were so clean and the restrooms well maintained. Definitely want to go back!
