If you love being on and near the water while tent camping I highly recommend Dewdrop Recreation Area. We are going back again next year and plan to stay a little longer.

I love camping at Dewdrop, but it's definitely time for some renovations to the bathrooms and shower facilities. I would also hope that in the future they try to do a better job of keeping their firewood supply dryer. It's so wet it barely builds flames enough to heat food.

Fully worth the 6 hour drive from Michigan. The campground is gorgeous and located right by the river. The host was helpful, friendly and accommodating.

First time at Dewdrop and we definitely found a new little adventure spot!!! Quiet and beautiful. Nice sized camping spots with good tree cover. We loved walking down to the lake and of course the mountain bike trails are so close ❤️

We loved this campground and our site was perfect. The sites are very large. Ours was right on the water and we could launch our SUPs right from it. The "vibe" was different than private campgrounds and even state parks. I think when there are no hook-ups, you get people there for serious camping and the many recreational opportunities offered rather than social "glampers". It was quiet, and we only heard one generator running for a short while. We used solar for our little camper & it worked fine. We hope to return and check out more of the amazing mt. bike trails, although we need something a little less challenging. We did an epic hike on the Dewdrop trail through Longhouse and looping back through Ursa, and were amazed at the giant rock formations. No cell reception until we got to the top of Dewdrop trail on the mountain.
