Willow Bay was the perfect location for our first family camping trip. The Hosts keep this place in tip-top shape. The ladies commandeering the gate were very welcoming, basically an enjoyable experience all around.

Be warned: We do love coming here, because of the area beauty and being close to nature. This is our second time visiting. The spot we had was a walk in, so be prepared to bring a large wagon with rollers, as YOU ARE NOT allowed to drive up to the site. You MUST lug back up the ill and put ALL food back into your car. Be warned: There are black bears. We encountered a huge one on our third night, one who ate through our sealed crackers and full box of sealed cereal. It basically opened the bin and ransacked trough all of it and bit into a sealed can of baked beans. Pretty terrifying. Our fault for neglecting to trek all the way back to our card to store it in the first place. As the bear came toward our tent, where we were inside, we screamed shouted with all we had, as we had nothing else ( no weapons) to protect ourselves. Thankfully, it turned around and left. There were people around in other sites, but NO ONE, not even the ranger came by to check on us.Our shouts were hard all over, so that was a bit surprising. Another issue we had is that there was dog poop around our site when we arrived the first day that we had clean up. The third issue we had, was that on the second night, the neighboring site was up all night making noise, partying, (so very little sleep) but we alerted the manager to that the next day, and it was taken care of.

I forgot to mention, that we had absolutely NO cell phone service. I tried to call 911 when the bear was on our site, to no avail. We could have been dead for hours before anyone even noticed.

{"text"=>"Gorgeous views and extremely clean facilities as well as very well maintained camping grounds. We rented a cabin here and thought it was very reasonably priced. I enjoyed the swing on our porch area and it was peaceful enough for me to read a good chunk of the book I brought along. Lush forests and beautiful creek/river views were within short walking distances. Would camp again.", "languageCode"=>"en"}
