What Guests Are Saying
Crooked Creek Lake offers a pleasant camping experience with clean facilities, helpful staff, and nearby wildlife, making it a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts. However, some campers noted issues with noise from other guests, lack of privacy between sites, and a need for more electric hookups. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's location and are likely to return despite minor inconveniences.

The camp was really nice. The bathrooms were kept clean and were spotless. My kids had a great time riding their bikes around the circle and playing on the playground. It was cold but we had a great time. The price is amazing and we will definitely be back when it gets warmer.

During the week the camp was quiet. The property is fairly typical, well managed, but a bit sterile in design. By Saturday the camp was much louder and physical distancing wasn’t abide nor at all enforced. The women’s bathroom light was not working the four days we stayed.
However overall, for a basic stop over, the camp was comfortable. Firewood was free, and the roads and beaches clean.

Our previous experiences, before RV's and generators, were very pleasant. Our last 2 visits were not as good because of generators. The first night there the rv accross the way had their generator running all night. I sent a message via facebook and the rangers spoke to us, and later the other campers. it was quiet that night, but ALL the next day all you heard were generators. no birds no wind in the trees . have to talk louder to each other in the day time. I feel our enjoyment was not as great as in years previous.

I love this space! So much to do. A playground right on site. A beach where you can swim. And bathrooms on site.
Clean! There's a campsite of all size to fit your needs too.

Sites are REALLY close together and no there is absolutely no privacy whatsover. The rangers are pretty diligent about coming to your campsite multiple times per day too see if you paid. They seem to be lacking up to date reservation.gov booking info and you have to show them your online receipt. I would recommend printing it out and stapling it to the sign out front. Also, when I showed up someone else was in my campsite even though I had a receipt- this person insisted they paid for the site. I just put up camp next to them and the rangers had to move all the reservations around to make everyone happy. I should also note that there are a few homeless people here who setup camp and move around from time to time.
Other than the disorganization and homeless people the site was clean, the bathrooms were cleaned daily, they have water for your camper but NO DUMP STATION, and the site is easy to find.

I've been going to Crooked Creek Lake since i was a child and look forward to future trips but there are some things i would like to see remedied before it opens for the 2020 season.
1. Fix the lights in the women's bathroom - basically from july on i either peed in the dark or if i was feeling brave used the men's room
2. Fix the stall doors in the women's bathroom- This has been an issue for years. Only one of the doors fully closes and locks. Some privacy please
3. Reconnect the second sink in the women's bathroom - there are 2 but only one has piping.
4. Please replace, update, or remove the lantern poles in the campsite. If they exist at all they have seen way better days.
5. the price is getting a little steep considering all the things mentioned above. I know times are a changing but there is only so much i'm willing to pay to sleep on the ground
Overall i'm happy to see updates to the center area of the campground, along with the restoration of playground next to the extra parking. Overall it looks like the powers that be are trying to use their funds to make Crooked Creek Lake a better place. Let's just get the basics solid before we start adding new features.
