We typically enjoy going to shenango since it’s close to home. We will usually go to shenango as our first trip of the season to work out any kinks but this last trip solidified our reason to never come back. I understand how some events are out of the campground’s hands, but we were there recently when a bad storm rolled through. Trees came down on cars and blocked several campers in at their sites. Rangers came by and made sure CARS could leave if they needed to that night. But seeing as we were the only campers blocked in and inconvenienced by fallen trees, we assumed we would be a priority the following morning. It wasn’t until after 10:30 and they cleared all other trees (all in areas with NO campers) that we had rangers come to remove the large tree. We were also informed that if we needed to use the restrooms only one was open and we were not allowed to use the dump station. Seeing as we not only needed those amenities and PAID to use them and nobody from the campground offered any type of other support, we, collectively as a group of 8 camper trailers, agreed to not return to Shenango and to seek out a campground that had better quality customer service, should a situation arise where their guests really needed support.

The sites were nice very spacious and private. Ours was very sloped but we managed in the shade and lots of trees. Watch out for the acorns dropping!! The other site we rented for our teens and their friends to tent on was nice and open and sunny. The camp host on the other hand WOW!!! They were not very friendly and were on the lookout for our kids all weekend. Their site was between us and the kids, when I say kids I am talking boys and girls ages 17 to 20. They nitpicked everything they could and told them about it. Watched them like a hawk just looking for something to yell at them about. We asked the campers beside the kids if they were being a problem because I was going to reprimand them for it and they said no they were no problem at all. They were up late and they could hear them talking but it wasn't so loud that it was disturbing. That was the only thing they told us. We had to be close to the host because of the campground being closed everywhere else. But, that shouldn't of made any difference the kids were not doing anything wrong. We stayed over the weekend of Sept 17, 2021 and the host last name was Fox in loop Old Duck.
