What Guests Are Saying
Susquehannock is a beautiful campground with well-maintained sites and stunning views of the lake and mountains, making it a favorite for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors appreciate the proximity to biking trails, water activities, and the friendly rangers. However, there are concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which detracts from the overall experience for some campers.

The views are very beautiful but there are two fairly significant setbacks.
No running water.
The sites are right on top of each other (no privacy whatsoever).
But the WORST problem were that the Pit Toilets were HORRIFIC and the odor was 24/7 even sitting down at your campsite and sleeping all night long, you could still smell the waste. At least 50-60’ away, down a hill.
Oh and the set up is probably not ideal for someone with physical challenges.
These are the reasons why I couldn’t rate this at a 5;

Was very peaceful. Campground, restrooms and sites where clean. We went during the week and had the whole point area to ourselves. Rangers where extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend, plan on going the same site and week every year. We also have Xfinity mobile and had excellent service.

Site 16 fabulous views , BUT don’t use 12-17. Cars are constantly speeding back and to and fro. Speed bumps are needed. I was annoyed by fellow drivers not being considerate of campers in this area.

The Marina was closed due to the hurricane but everything else was great. Our site was perfect. We will be back.

The waterfront view was great, but the trip was ruined by the bathroom situation. We went with 4 kids and the latrines were literally a health hazard. I went in on day one, and was swarmed with flies, literally landing all over me. I'm an outdoors guru, but never in my life was in such a disgusting bathroom. The dumpster next to the bathroom smelled better. And no showers. Needless to say, I spent hours of my vacation driving to another campground to use their bathrooms. Imagine 4 kids, walking up at different times, I was a bathroom chauffeur day and night. I wouldn't stay here again.

We love this campground. It’s close to home and usually quiet unless you’re unfortunate enough to be surrounded by people with rigs who run generators all weekend. That’s always a bummer.
We were here in June and there was no noise, the bathrooms were really clean, we had a great time.
This time, in August, we had to drive home several times to use the bathroom because the campground ones clearly haven’t been touched the entire season. The toilets were covered in feces and the bathrooms were infested with flies and bugs. If you can clean the toilets, don’t have them. This wasn’t mildly gross, it’s far passed unacceptable. Not sure what people do who don’t live as close we do.
If you take the nasty toilets out of the equation this campground is 10/10 when it’s full of tents and boondockers.

The site was satisfactory, but the "near water" is a little misleading. It was pretty difficult to launch our kayaks from here, and near water might lead people to assume that you actually have a view of the water which was not the case. It might be more accurate to label it as "Water access below ridge." Other than that, a great time as always! The mountain bike trails were in pristine shape, thanks for maintaining such a great trail system.
