Tompkins Campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly hosts and beautiful views of the lake, making it a popular choice for campers. Many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and excellent recreational activities like swimming and fishing. While some noted issues with cell service, shower facilities, and sewage odors, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The park was clean both times I camped. The camp host's, maintenance and Rangers are all top level at their jobs. Friendliness and courtesy by both the caretakers of the park and fellow campers. It's an annual trip that I continue to make every year with my military buddies.

We love this campground and the workers are always so friendly and helpful and hard working.
BUT....the kids and a few adults that are zooming around on motorized scooters and bikes has gotten out of control. Especially children zooming all over the place unsupervised. There's a gorgeous playground and a beach that they can entertain themselves at.
Our last trip there we had the next campers for our site show up 3 hours early and they clearly wanted to get into our site early...but we had planned to enjoy our alloted time there. They parked their RV right next to our site (and tore up the grass) and got out their lawn chairs and sat and stared at us for over an hour!! They went at least twice to the camp hosts to complain and I'm sure they were told that we had until 3pm because that is the check out time. Check in is at 4, not 1 when they arrived. It would have been nice if the camp hosts had told them to wait at the gate until we left or until 4 when check in time is. It was beyond rude and creepy to say the least.

Very cute sites, although they’re pretty close together with little privacy. Accessible bathrooms that were decently clean.
