What Guests Are Saying
Ives Run is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with spacious sites, friendly staff, and a scenic location near Hammond Lake. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, the peaceful atmosphere, and the variety of outdoor activities available, such as fishing, hiking, and biking. Some minor issues were noted, including inconveniences with sewer hookups and limited availability for late-season bookings, but overall, campers had a great experience and expressed a strong desire to return.

Visit Date: May 2-10,2023: This is a nice campground with a beautiful 650 acre lake! Here is why I deducted a star. The gypsy moths are back and I read on FB where the campground manager said sorry they can't treat them due to the campground being open. That is a sad statement after knowing full well they were inundated with them last season (2022) and made many camping trips less enjoyable than they should have been. Being proactive this season and treating the trees before the May 1,2023 campground opening date would been the proactive, best management practice to initiate. Instead they seemed to ignore hoping they would go away and
they did not. Now we have to endure another season of not being able to sit outside if you have a site with trees.
I found it interesting that the surrounding mountains and woods were being sprayed by airplane the week of May 5th + with the campground full and right in the path of the spray, but management states their is nothing they can do within the campground???????
So in closing what lesson did you learn a few years ago when the 200+ ash trees needed to be removed from within the park? There was no cure for the ash borer but their is for the gypsy moth, don't let it kill more trees within the park!!

This is our "go to" campground.. We love it. Only problem we encounter constantly is the lack of mowing around the sites. Apparently, the contractor is nor permitted to mow close to the units & neither are the hosts or employees. Makes for some tall grass.

We stayed at Ives Run on 5/7/23. My husband drove our truck and camper and I drove my car. I arrived about 5 minutes before him and parked my car. I was helping him back into our site when the camp hosts came and yelled at us because my car was on the grass. I explained that as soon as we were parked on the site, my husband would put the truck on one side of the driveway and my car would be on the other. What a warm welcome, she said the park ranger could write me a ticket. We stayed one night and left the next morning.
PS. If they were so neurotic about the grass, why hadn’t it been mowed? It was as tall as the dandelions. We won’t bother going back. We used to love this place but these camp hosts were nasty!!

Bathroom floors after cleaning were soaking wet Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Better on Friday.
Miss the handicap pavilions at the handicap sites.

Ives Run is our favorite place to camp, we've been going there for years. Admittedly, it is difficult to get our preferred sites sometimes but that just shows how popular the campground is. We live in NY and have to drive two hours to be able to camp in such a beautiful place. Either of the ACOE campgrounds along the route is well worth the trip and we try to go to both a couple of times per season. You've got the lake and hiking trails depending on your type of recreation and if you decide to take a day trip, the surrounding area is beautiful as well. Wellsboro is a notable place to check out and only a short drive to the Grand Canyon of the East. There may very well be more attractions in the area but we typically go to this campground to get away from the routine of daily life. So for the most part we are grounded when we get here and we are OK with that. It's beautiful and peaceful!!!
