Tionesta is our favorite campground. The employees are very friendly when you check-in & while they are passing out the flyers for weekend activities. Each site has full hookups and most are nicely shaded. It's a beautiful campground, and each site is cleaned before/after our stay. Very peaceful with the sounds of the river, birds, and crickets. Husband likes the fishing while the grandkids love the play area with its castle & boat. We love to see what's new at the Market Village & have ice cream at Bananas, which are close to the campground. There's also a gas station/souvenir shop & Dollar General nearby for your convenience.

Park is clean and well kept. Sites are very nice, they are large with gravel parking and full hookup. Most sites are pretty level. The fire rings have an adjustable rack for cooking. The roads around the park are paved and smooth. The restrooms are kept clean but in need of updating. There is no control for the shower temperature, you get whatever temperature they have set it at and a single button that needs to be continuously pressed to keep the water running. Also, there is no family shower house, as there should be at a family campground. We spent 6 nights at this park and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful setting, the fresh air, the mountain views, and the sound of water flowing down the river at the rear of our site. This is a really nice place to camp and the town of Tionesta is storybook like. One of the highlights of this trip was our day at Cook’s Forrest. We hiked through an area known as The Forrest Cathedral. I would highly recommend checking out this spot, there are few places that can compare to the beauty found here.
